National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
National Honor Society (NHS) was founded in 1921 to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. 

The four basic requirements for membership are scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Yearly Requirements:
There will be monthly meetings and participation in activities/events throughout the school year. Members must log 10 volunteer hours each year and participate in a minimum of one event. Members must maintain a cumulative grade point of 3.5 or above.

Students are eligible to apply for NHS membership if they demonstrate academic achievement through their grade point average.

8th Grade Year Induction GPA Requirement: A cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above must be earned during their sixth and seventh grade years and first semester of their 8th grade year.

7th Grade Year Induction GPA Requirement: A cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above must be earned during their sixth and first semester of seventh grade year.

Grade point averages will not be rounded to meet the minimum requirement.

Procedures for joining:
Students must complete the application packet within the time frame provided during their 7th or 8th grade year. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above to receive the packet.  

Activity Time Period:
September to June with new members joining after first semester report cards

Unlimited
